Bill began his photographic journey working with his father in a basement studio and darkroom and progressed to working for Henderson Studios in the Sheraton Cadillac Hotel.  At the Henderson studios Bill learned about studio lighting, retouching large format negatives and quality b&w portrait printing.

The US Army was the next step in the photographic journey where Bill was a still and motion picture photographer primarily shooting public information photos in the Canal Zone where he was stationed, and on a team filming documentaries for Department of Defense traveling in Central and South America working with in-country military groups.

Returning to college, Bill studied business and marketing at Eastern Michigan University and during that time had a small studio where he worked on his formal portrait skills.

Bill moved to Oregon in early 1970 and has ever since enjoyed the Pacific Northwest. He has specialized in photojournalism and event photography for several longtime clients and enjoys his photographic sojourns to the Honolulu Zoo, sometimes more enjoyable than the beach and surfing.
